Training of future teachers’ trainers on school – based assessment standards implementation in the schools

The second seminar for training of future teachers’ trainers on school – based assessment standards implementation was held in Bitola from 18th through 20th of November. The training participants were members of the Assessment Working Group, advisors from the Bureau for development of Education and teachers from the first phase school.

Based on the initial training of trainers, held in September and facilitated by the Irish experts (Tomas Gerard Shiel and Damian Murchan) a Module for basic teacher training was developed and presented to the future trainers. The seminar was facilitated by Prof. Phd. Violeta Petroska Beshka and MA. Kiro Poposki.

The goal of the seminar was to enable future trainers to implement the Module for the basic teacher training on School – based assessment standards implementation in the schools. Based on this training, the future trainers will develop necessary adaptations of the training for separate teaching subjects. The training for the teachers from the first phase schools will be implemented in January 2008.

According to the training participants’ considerations, the Training Module incorporates the basic topics which will enable teachers to adjust their assessment practices to the Standards requirements. Also, the future trainers assessed that they felt competent after the completed trainings to start with the teachers’ trainings for School-based Assessment Standards Implementation.
