Workshop on Assessment Standards and Code of Ethics in Assessment

From 25-27 April, a workshop on developing assessment standards in the schools and a code of ethics in assessment was held in Ohrid. The workshop was led by Dr Gerard Shiel from the Educational Research Centre from Dublin and Dr Damian Murchan from the School of Education of the Trinity College in Dublin.

This workshop was tailored for the members of the PEP assessment working group. The professional support from the foreign experts, who shared the experience from their and other countries, helped the participants in planning future activities for development of the Assessment standards and Code of Ethics in the Macedonian context.

Following the workshop, a participant wrote: ”The logistics and organization were of high quality and professionalism, there were kindness and full professional support by the facilitators. There is a need for further professional training in this field”.

Participating in the workshop were the coordinators from 10 primary schools that are included in the first phase of training in school-based assessment, the representatives from BDE and State Educational Inspectorate, as well as representatives from USAID and other USAID educational projects in Macedonia.
