Teachers learn from their Students

Five students have been awarded prizes and 32 have been recognized for their successful essays on the contest: How I would like my teachers to assess me.

The main goal of the competition was to offer the students an opportunity to state their opinions on an important issue that concerns them. The students spoke to their parents and teachers about their feelings regarding the way teachers assess them. In this way the teachers got the opportunity to look at assessment ‘through the eyes of students’. The second goal of the competition was for the teachers to employ essay assessment methods promoted in PEP workshops for improving assessment.

The awards were presented to students in a ceremony at the ‘Cinemateque of Macedonia’ on June 6th 2008 where the winning students read their essays and other recognized essays were displayed for the invited guests and public.

The following students were awarded prizes:
Elena Shalevska VI-5 grade ‘Kliment Ohridski’ – Bitola
Leandra Toska VI-3 grade ‘Rajko Zinzifov’ –Skopje
