Sharing Successful Formative Assessment Practices
In June, four primary schools met together to share their successful assessment practices developed following their PEP workshops. The schools were:
- PS “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” – v. Draslajca, Struga
- PS “Sande Shetrjoski” – Kicevo
- PS “Zivko Brajkovski” – Skopje
- PS “Sando Masev” – Strumica
Representatives from these 4 schools, met at PS “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” – Draslajca on June 11 and 12.
Each school presented one video film of a lesson where formative assessment approaches were applied. Using this opportunity of being together, the participants also shared what they are proud of in their schools, as well as the challenges that they are facing. Teachers, school directors, pedagogues and psychologists held their discussions in a very friendly and motivating atmosphere and appreciated the opportunity to share their practices with colleagues from different cities and schools.
Svetlana Gasoska, PEP’s assessment coordinator commented, “These schools work with dedication on improving their assessment practice.”
During the meeting, plans for future networking activities were discussed and the next meeting for sharing practices is scheduled for September 2010. PEP’s assessment component will continue to support networking activities and would like to include more schools. If you are interested, please contact Svetlana or Gorica at the PEP office.
