Earth Day Event Celebration

This year, on April 25th, the third celebration of Earth Day was held in the City Park, under the motto "Collect PET for a better world." The event was organized by USAID Plastic Recycling Project, Ministry of Environment and the City of Skopje.

 At this event USAID Primary Education Project, together with their partner organization Mdc.Ti.net, presented the Green Schools. Approximately one hundred students from 20 green schools, in cities across Macedonia, held various activities: cleaning the green areas in the park, writing awareness raising messages about climate change and environmental protection and they presented other activities that are implemented in their schools.

The people at the event were addressed by  the Mayor of the City of Skopje, Koce Trajanovski, the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Nexhati Jakupi and the director of USAID's Primary Education Keith Prenton. Many popular music stars also participated in the event.
