New PEP tool for the primary education teachers - Good Teaching Practice Examples Handbook

In order to support, make it easier and enriched the every-day teaching practice, in December 2010, PEP initiated the idea of publishing a handbook that will contain good practice examples (educational topics related with the curriculum, lesson plans, project materials, videos, etc.). The materials should have included compilation of good teaching methodology, formative assessment and ICT in the education. It was also a good opportunity for promotion of the innovative teachers who share their successful lessons with contemporary teaching approaches.
By the end of January 2011, the project’s working group received 174 examples of lessons prepared by upper primary teachers. Based on previous established criteria and requirements, 150 lesson examples have been selected and they will be published in electronic and written version.
The working group members expressed their contentment about lessons received. They stressed out that selected examples:

  1. show innovative student-centered teaching and learning approaches;
  2. have incorporated formative assessment and assessment techniques and appropriate  instruments;
  3. show teaching and learning where students are involved in practical hands-on activities, experiments and that they use technology; and
  4. show use of subject knowledge in everyday authentic situation and problem solving.

The publication Good Teaching Practice Examples Handbook is in final phaze and its whole content is prepared by the authors –teachers. It will be distributed to schools by beginning of June. All interested teachers, who sent materials for this handbook, can check if their example have been selected on the following link:
