New Schools Selected for Phase 4 Renovations!

 

The PEP School Renovations Component has identified schools for Phase 4 of the project. In September 2009 a call for applications was announced and all municipalities were given a chance to submit their applications for up to two school renovations. By the end of October 2009, 109 applications were submitted by 70 municipalities. The renovations work group evaluated the applications and selected 23 primary schools for renovation. With these 23 schools and the 77 renovated primary schools in the previous phases PEP will have renovated 100 primary schools by the end of the project in 2011. The renovations needs of the schools differ but most of the projects are windows replacement, roof replacements, and overall renovations. The implementation of the first projects will begin in January 2010.
The other schools that applied will be included on a priority list, in case additional funding is found.
