PEP and MoES confirm the collaboration and support for Macedonia’s Primary Schools
A new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday, 28 January between USAID’s Primary Education Project (PEP) and the Ministry of Education. USAID has provided additional funding for a new Workforce Development component within PEP and the original MOU, signed between the parties in April 2007, has been amended to include the new component’s activities.
The MoU was signed by the Mission Director of USAID Macedonia Mr. Michael Fritz, the Minister of Education and Science (MoES) Mr. Pero Stojanovski, PEP Chief of Party Keith Prenton, and the Director of the Bureau for the Development of Education, Vesna Horvatovic.
“Increasing workforce skills in students to meet the demands of the job market will continue to be one of USAID’s main priorities”, said Michael Fritz, USAID Mission Director, “This new workforce development component provides added focus to those aims by promoting entrepreneurial attitudes and employability skills in young people and helping them understand the relationship between school and work”.
The visitors were shown an exhibition of various products and equipment donated to schools by USAID/PEP.
