The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Primary Education Project has opened a Technical Support Center, supported by the Ministry of Information Society.

 



The main objective for schools in the 21st century is creating an improved learning environment, one that is also energy efficient and economical.

 


 

 


To assist schools in maintaining the computers and the computer equipment (and thus to increase the students’ access to computers) the USAID Primary Education Project (PEP) introduced the concept of Student Support Technician Clubs (SSTC's).

Over the past week, a number of computers like the ones in the photo have been stolen from a primary school. Because they are easily portable they are a temptation to thieves who think they can be resold.

 

 


IT Minister attends PEP ICT Workshop

Following the successful introduction of Student Support Technician Clubs (SSTCs)  in Macedonia’s primary schools, PEP will provide additional training to enable them to maintain the Linux-based computers introduced into schools by the Macedonian government.
